A complete 301 redirect map points every old URL on your site to the right new one, so when you replatform you keep the search rankings and traffic you have spent years earning. We crawl your existing site, match each page to its equivalent on the new store, and set up permanent 301 redirects for all of it: products, collections, blog posts, and the odd legacy page nobody remembers. This is the single most common thing teams underestimate, and the one that quietly tanks traffic when it is skipped.

How we do it

  • Crawl the live site and pull every indexed URL, plus what Search Console and analytics say is actually getting traffic.
  • Map each old URL to its new destination, page by page, not with a lazy catch-all to the homepage.
  • Build redirects for products, collections, content, images, and discontinued pages that should land somewhere sensible.
  • Verify after launch with a fresh crawl to catch anything returning a 404 or chaining through multiple hops.

When the URL structure changes between platforms, and it usually does, the redirect map is what tells Google your authority moved rather than disappeared. Done right, you hold your rankings. Skipped, you can lose months of organic traffic that takes far longer to win back.

The honest part: there is no shortcut here. A real map is line-by-line work, and a blanket redirect to the homepage is worse than useless because Google treats it as a soft 404. We do the tedious version because it is the version that actually protects your traffic.

We manage redirects with Shopify’s native URL redirects, and import them in bulk with Matrixify when the list is long.
